This has been a busy week in O'Carolan College, in which we have been completing projects, organising trips and celebrating our annual autism awareness week.
We had many events organised for Autism awareness week. Our first years were shown an ASD related movie, a number of students addressed the staff about living lives as students with autism, a cake sale took place to raise funds for our ASD Unit, blue nail painting to raise awareness for ASD and a balloon release to finish out the week.
Numerous other events also took place this week. Our student council and student leaders attended the Cycle against Suicide Congress on Tuesday, in where there was a performace by Kodaline for all the students. Our second year students are attending a PE trip to Tanagh for developing skills in team build, group-work and wellbeing. Our third years are also attending their ecology practical trip, in which they will put the skills they developed in science to practical use when studying habitats in Causy Farm.
We would like to wish all our students a happy and restful break over the Easter.
