6th Year Trip to Combilift Monaghan

Our 6th year Construction Studies, Engineering and Design & Communication Graphics students recently visited Combilift in Monghan. Combilift is an industry leading company who design and manufacture mulit-directional forklifts for a variety of uses all over the world. Our students learned about how the business started, how a large scale engineering production line operates and the career opportunities available to post-primary graduates.

Combilift offer both traineeships and apprenticeships which they run in conjunction with Monaghan Institute of Further Education. Our tour guide was a former student of our school, Alana Kiernan, who has recently finished her traineeship in electrics. Combilift’s main message to our students was that they hire and train people based on ATTITUDE and INTEREST, two valuable qualities that the students can utilize while undertaking their Leaving Certificate in O’Carolan College.
