Last week, O’Carolan College celebrated Wellbeing week. The week focused on different aspects of life that contribute to our wellbeing. Several students and staff events took place and we looked at the Wellbeing indicators of respected, responsible, connected, active and resilient. In our school, we strive to educate our students to develop academically, physically and mentally, to prepare them for the future. This week allowed us to take the time to reflect and focus on how we develop habits to nuture our mental health.
Students had guest speakers in from the Samaritans and the AA, while our Peer Education Mentors in Transition Year visited classes to talk about youth mental health. Teachers took got involved with a staff v student badminton match, had lunchtime games, and on Friday we had a random act of kindness day. Well done to all who took part, it was a great success.
